At 10:14 AM as crews were taking up at the auto accident on Coldstream Road, Communications advised them of a house fire on Miller Road in East Pikeland Township. The units immediately responded from the scene and headed to the house fire. The alarm consisted of: Kimberton Fire (61), Ridge Fire (62), Phoenixville Fire (65), a ladder from Royersford Fire (M98), Traffic 68 from Valley Forge Fire as well as MICU 67-4 from West End Ambulance. Deputy 61 (Fields) was the first to arrive and took command. Chief Pollinger handled the fireground operations. Crews encountered a two (2) bay attached garage with heavy fire showing. Smoke could be seen for miles (as seen in the one photo) As the First-in Engine attacked the fire, a 2nd Kimberton Engine laid a supply line up the street from a hydrant. Engine 65-3 from Phoenixville pumped that line, as Tankers from Kimberton and Ridge supplied water until that was ready. The fire was quickly knocked down and the fire placed under control at 10:45 AM. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from extending into the home.
Crews remained on the scene working until 12:15 PM. County and State Police Fire Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental and related to Fire Place ashes. Also assisting was the East Pikeland Police, and Belfor Property Restorations.
