AT 7:40 PM Chester County Fire Communications alerted Lionville (47) Fire, Kimberton (Rescue 61) and Uwchlan (87) EMS for an accident 'Reported Serious' at 1826 Conestoga Road (Route 401) in West Pikeland Township. Kimberton immediately responded with the Rescue, Chief, Deputy and Fire Police Captain. MICU 87-1 was the first to arrive and reported 1 down in roadway and fire in the engine compartment of the auto. Chief 61 (Pollinger) arrived and assumed command, as Deputy 61 took and extinguisher to the car to knock down the flames. Rescue 61 stretched a hand line and west down the engine compartment. Traffic 73 from Ludwigs Corner FD closed down eastbound traffic on Route 401, while Kimberton's Fire Police closed down Westbound traffic at Byers Road. The situation was quickly placed under control and the MICU transported 1 trauma to Paoli's trauma center. The FD assisted with cleaning up the scene and cleared at 8:30 PM.
