At 9:58 AM firefighters from Kimberton (61), Ludwigs Corner (73), Lionville (47), Uwchlan Ambulance (87) and Ridge (for a Rapid Intervention Team) were alerted for a house on fire in the 1300 block of Hollow Road in West Vincent Township. Assistant, Deputy, Engine and Tanker 61 were the first to arrive on the scene and found fire venting through the roof of the home, along with fire in the living room around the wood stove. Firefighters stretched the first hose line in the front door and attacked the fire in the living room and attic space. The 2nd hose line from a Ludwigs Corner engine knocked down the fire on the roof. The fire was quickly placed under control and command began releasing units from the scene. Assistant Chief Pollinger had fire Operations and Deputy Chief Fields had command.
Damages were estimated to be around $ 50,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals office. Belfor Restorations handled boarding up the roof and began working with the homeowners to isolate further damage. Companies cleared the scene at 11:45 AM.
A pumper tanker (ENG055) from the East Whiteland Fire Station stood by at the Kimberton Fire Station to cover calls during the fire.
