AT 11:32 PM County Fire Communications alerted Kimberton (61) Fire for a dumpster fire on Bryn Coed Lane in West Vincent Township. Upon Arrival of the Engine and the Assistant Chief (Pollinger), they found the fire had spread (from the 30 yard dumpster) to a large barn type structure. A first alarm building response was requested bringing the rest of the Kimberton units, and Engine and Tanker from Ludwigs Corner (73) Fire, A pumper-Tanker from Ridge (62), A Tower-Ladder and Tanker from Lionville(47) Fire, a Ladder from Phoenixville (65) Fire, a rapid Intervention Engine from Valley Forge (68) Fire, and a MICU from Trappe (85) of Phoenixville. The first in Engine used their tank water to contain the fire and hold it in check until supplemental units could arrive and set up a water supply. The farm and barn was unoccupied and access was difficult due to being down a long dirt driveway. Tankers had to come in and dump their water and back out before the next tanker could get into the scene. Units remained on the scene until 3 AM, making sure the fire was out. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals Office. During the fire a Pumper Tanker from the Norco (64) FD stood by at the Kimberton Fire Station.
