This morning Phoenixville firefighters were dispatched to the Sears Store at 700 Nutt Road for a dumpster fire. Upon arrival they found a commercial dumpster with compactor unit well involved in fire. Command was alerted to a smoke condition throughout the store. The Incident Commander (Deputy Chief Walters) then had Kimberton (61) Fire dispatched for an Engine to assist. Engine and Deputy 61 were assigned to the interior to investigate the smoke. All though the store is closed (Going out of business) crews were still working to clear the store of many items. Kimberton personnel worked to clear the warehouse of smoke for over an hour. Kimberton crews spent an hour and a half on the scene before clearing just after 12 noon.
