FIRE ALARM SAVES HOMEOWNERS PROPERTY

Kimberton Firefighters were alerted for a Fire alarm on Pickering Road in East Pikeland Twp just before the heavy rains and Thunderstorms arrived. Upon arrival, crews found the home locked up but full of smoke. A further investigation told them they had a cooking incident in progress. Not wanting to break in, fire personnel found an unlocked window, removed the screen and climbed in. Once inside they turned off the stove, removed the burnt food and began ventilating the home. Although the homeowner was not home for this event, their alarm system saved them and the FD did their job, locked up and left without them(the homeowners) being there. To prevent forcible entry on your home in case you have an alarm, please consider a key box. The Kimberton FD has a key box program that you can join.
