Just after midnight on Tuesday September 12, 2017 on the way home from a FD Chief’s meeting, Deputy Chief Fields came across an injured baby Raccoon along the roadway. He went home and retrieved a box and some blankets and went back for the animal. He picked him up and wrapped him in a blanket, took him home and fed the little guy. He was put to bed, and first thing in the morning he took him down to the Schuylkill Wildlife Rehab in the Roxboro section of Philadelphia. The Chief has checked on him several times, and he (the raccoon) continues to work to get well with the help of the great staff at this facility.
