Firefighters from Kimberton (61) and Ridge (62) Fire stations spent Saturday & Sunday doing ventilation training with five members of the Sacramento Fire Department. Firefighters spent Saturday in class, followed by all day on Sunday training on the new roof prop. The Sacramento Firefighters worked with crews to improve their roof cutting skills. The new prop allows firefighters to train on flat surfaces, slight slopes or steep angles. It can also allow smoke to come out of holes cut in the roof from a smoke machine. The unit also has the capability of allowing for training on cutting garage doors and bailing out of upper floor windows. As seen in the photos, the unit is equipped with safety chains all the way around the unit as well as lighting for evening training. Assisting in the training were: Jeff Clark, Karl Earley, John Clark, Scott Talman, and Dave Pierner from the Sacramento FD, Rod Temple the salesman from Fire Vent LLC, Doug White from Forensic Fog Technology and Ray Smeriglio the Regional Manager from Cutters Edge Saws (who provided demo saws for this Training event. We wish to thank all of them for spending their weekend with us.
