During the weekly drill, Volunteers were alerted to an accident on Charlestown Road at Markley Lane in Charlestown Township. The Chief, Engine and Utility immediately responded. Crews found a 2 vehicle accident blocking the roadway. Fire Police from Kimberton and East Whiteland Fire Station closed down Charlestown Road between Hollow Road and Church Roads. Crews assisted with EMS and secured the vehicles. One patient was taken by West End Ambulance to the Paoli Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. Firefighters helped clear debris and swept the roadway in an attempt to get the road back open for motorists. Units cleared within an hour. Chief Pollinger had command.
