As the storms rolled thru this morning, Kimberton was alerted to a house fire in the West Pikeland section of our district, initial report was a lightning strike to the roof, Kimberton along with Lionville, Ludwigs Corner, Phoenixville, Valley forge, Uwchlan Amb. were dispatched, once on location there was nothing evident from the exterior at the time, crews could smell something burning. as crews checked the residence inside they found a small fire on the high vaulted roof line, the interior crew from Lionville made their way to the roof line inside and were able to extinguish the fire very quick, the aerial was placed in service in order to check the outside pealing away a small area of shingles and wetting down the area, then place a tarp over a small hole in the roof to prevent further damage from additional rains.
the crews worked together to prevent the small fire from spreading, minimal damage occurred due to the quick response of all.
