KIMBERTON ASSISTS PHOENIXVILLE 2 – ALARMER

Thursday January 11, 2007

AT 0039 communications alerted Phoenixville Fire (65.66.67), Tower 61 (Kimberton) and an Engine from Valley Forge (68) to the 200 block of Church Street in Phoenixville for a building fire. Within minutes the assignment was upgraded to a working fire with people trapped. First-in Crews from Phoenixville rescued a male from a 3rd floor apartment. Crews were met with heavy fire in a 3rd floor apartment which had extended into the roof. Command struck a 2nd alarm bringing in additional units from 61 & 68, engine 55 (Mont Clare) and Ladder 84 (Royersford) and a RIT engine from Oaks Fire(M63). The male rescued was flown out to Temple Hosp in Phila by Pennstar helicopter. The fire was placed under control at 0157 Hrs and units began clearing by 0400 hrs. Deputy 65 (Gable) from PFD had command.
