KIMBERTON & EAST WHITELAND FIREFIGHTERS CUT ONE FREEOn March 27, 2008 at 1439 hrs, Station 61 and MICU 67 (West End EMS) were dispatched to an auto accident on Rt 29 North of Hollow Road. After responding, units were advised that there was entrapment and it was in Station 05's (East Whiteland Fire Co.) local. All Units were advised to proceed in to the scene. On arrival, crews encountered a 2 vehicle accident involving a furniture delivery truck and a 4 door sedan. A female was trapped in the sedan and crews from 61 and 05 had to remove the roof to gain access to the p atient. Total extrication time was less than 10 mins. Once extricated, Ambulance 05 and both medics from 67 transported the patient to a nearby landing zone where a second Kimberton engine (Engine 61-1) had landed Pennstar2. The patient was flown to HUP with unspecified injuries. 2 others were transported to Phoenixville Hospital with unspecified injuries. Crews also assisted by closing the roadway and fluid control from the vehicles. A great job was done by all! Photo and story by Scott Fredericks, FF/EMT additional photographs to Stacy Catren, East Whiteland Fire Company On February 3, 2008 at 1:25pm hours the Kimberton Fire Company responded to a vehicle accident at Route 113 and Hares Hill Road. A large truck struck a utility pole causing the pole too break and the wires to hang into the roadway. The fire company assisted with traffic control and stood by until the incident was stabilized. On February 3, 2008 at 0015 hours the Kimberton Fire Company and West End Ambulance responded to a two vehicle accident on Charlestown Road and Swiss Lane. The fire company completed extrication and assisted with patient care and scene lighting. The fire company remained on location for several hours assisting the State Police. On February 5, 2008 at 2:50pm the Kimberton Fire Company responded to a chimney fire on Snyder Ave. The fire company extinguished the fire in the wood stove and determined there was no extension in the house. 2008
