APARTMENT FIRE ASSIST IN PHOENIXVILLE

Thursday May 10, 2007

At 1039 hours communications Alerted Phoenixville Firefighters (65, 66, 67) for a fire alarm at the King Terrace Apts (a Chester County Housing for the Elderly building) at 300 West High Street. Within 1 minute the alarm was upgraded to a building fire, adding Kimberton (Eng/Tower), Valley Forge (Engine/Rescue), Oaks Fire (RIT Engine) to the box. Fire Crews found heavy fire in apartment #212 and made an aggressive attack. At the same time other firefighters were searching for occupants who might not have evacuated immediately. John Buckwalter (Assistant 67) was the OIC. County & State FM’s investigated the suspicious fire. Units cleared the scene by 1400 hrs.
