CAR OVERTURNS ON ROUTE 23 LEAVING 1 TRAPPED

Friday July 13, 2007

At 0948 Hours, Chester County communications alerted Kimberton Fire (61 & 72) and West End Ambulance (MICU 67) for an accident with entrapment on Route 23 west of Hares Hill Road in East Pikeland Twp. Units found an adult female trapped upside down in her auto, still seat belted in her seat. Rescue crews cut away sections of the front doors to enable them to open fully and access the patient. Once access was made to the driver, crews worked to bring the driver down onto a backboard without causing further injury. Rescue 72 established an LZ for a medical Helicopter (Skycare), but the patient was taken by ambulance to Phoenixville Hospital.

The extrication was completed at 1010 hrs and units cleared by 1045 Hours.
