WORKING HOUSE FIRE IN CHESTER SPRINGS

Monday October 30, 2006

At 1655 Hours multiple calls began coming into the Chester County 911 center for a well involved house fire in the 800 block of Byers Road off Route 401 in West Pikeland Township. County Fire dispatched Lionville Fire (47), Kimberton Fire (61) and Uwchlan Ambulance (87) to the incident. Chief 47 (Holmes) arrived within minutes, confirmed a working fire and requested Tanker 61 and Ludwigs Corner (73) for a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). An Aggressive attack saved a large amount of the home. The fire was placed under control at 1725 hours and damages set at over $500,000. After extensive overhaul and work with County investigators, the units cleared at 2045 hours.

TOWER ASSIST ON WORKING APARTMENT BLDG FIRE

Friday October 27, 2006

At 1122 Hours calls began coming in the Chester County Communication Center for a working Apartment Building fire at the Knollwood Apts at 30 Nutt Road in Phoenixville. Dispatched were Phoenixville FD (65, 66, 67), Valley Forge Fire (Engine 68) and Kimberton Fire (Tower 61). First in units reported heavy fire from a ground unit and Chief Pollinger (Chief 66) assumed command. The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes with no injuries. Damages were set at more than $120,000. Oaks Fire (Mont Co 63) provided the RIT assignment. Units cleared by 1330 Hours.
