MUTUAL AID ASSIGNMENT AT JUNKYARD FIRE

Monday February 27, 2006

At 1716 Hours the Phoenixville FD (Station 66) was dispatched to a possible trash fire in the 1000 block of Black Rock Road. Engine 66-1 arrived to find fire in the junkyard and requested assistance from the other 2 stations (65 & 67). At 1731 hours the assignment was upgraded to a building fire with fire extending from a truck and trash burning to a nearby outbuilding. Tower 61 (Kimberton), Engine 68-2 (Valley Forge) and Engines 84/85 (Royersford) were then added to the assignment. Companies worked together to pull apart the junk and extinguish the fire. FM-1-1 (Gallagher) assisted on the scene and the DEP and Haz-Mat duty officers were notified. Deputy Chief Gable (65) had command. Units cleared by 1930 Hours.
