MOTORCYCLE FLIES OFF ROADWAY INTO WOODS

At 1112 hours Chester County Communications alerted Kimberton Fire Company (61) and West End Ambulance (67) for a motorcycle accident on Coldstream at the "S" bends in Charlestown Township. Chief 61 was the first to arrive and found the motorcyclist approximately 40' off the roadway lying in a thick briar patch with the motorcycle on top of him. Fire & EMS crews used chain saws to cut away heavy brush in an attempt to make a path towards the patient. The extrication was competed at 1146. Valley Forge Fire Company (68) handled the helicopter landing at the Valley Forge Christian College where they landed Pennstar 2. Fire Police closed down Coldstream Road between Charlestown and Mary Hill Roads. Chief 61 had command. Units cleared by 1240 hours.
