What's New!Santa Detail 2007Saturday December 15thFirefighters from the Kimberton Fire Co hit the street with 3 units (2 Engines and the Tower Ladder) for nine (9) hours on Saturday to get around the district with Santa. Firefighters handed out candy canes to the children as parents could be found visiting the vehicle following the fire truck...which sold donuts. Crews also handed out flyers of their upcoming fund raiser in February. Donuts were also sold from the station that day and the previous day (Friday the 14th) as a fund raising activity. In January of this year firefighter Drew Morris had the opportunity to travel to the country of Vanuatu, in the South Pacific, on a church mission trip to help at a day camp being held on the island.
During his visit he had the chance to meet and work with the crew at the Luganville station of the Vanuatu fire brigade. Morris presented a gift donation of $150 along with t-shirts and patches to the Fire Master (chief ) during a ceremony kicking off the week long day camp. Firefighter Morris and a few of the leaders were also able to minister to the fire brigade by doing minor repairs to the only pumper assigned to the island.
In the late summer months of 2007, the Kimberton Fire Company donated some of their older fire gear to the firefighters in Vanuatu. Fire gear is a luxury that their fire Department simply didn't have and was absolutely thrilled to receive. Pictured as crew members displaying their recently received turnout gear.
