The Kimberton Fire Co. will be holding a Fire Police Class on July 10th and 11th.

The cost is $20.00/person which includes books and lunch for both days. If you are interested in attending please call Glenn Deery at 610-935-3059 or contact the station.


On June 23, 2010 The Kimberton Fire Company conducted a joint training with Liberty Steam Fire Co. (Spring City). The drill was focused on vehicle extrication. Firefighters from both companies worked together in groups to complete several scenarios.  Photos by Chief Gable

 

On May 24, 2010 the Kimberton Fire Company attended a joint training session at the at the Pennhurst property in Spring City. Members from Kimberton, Spring City, Valley Forge, and Phoenixville fire companies were able to utilize one of the large buildings on the property to train together in aerial ladders, forcible entry, search and rescue, and hoseline advancement, among other skills.

On July 1, 2009 The Kimberton Fire Company hosted a joint training session at the future site of the Advance Auto Parts on Schuylkill Road. Members from Kimberton, Ridge, Valley Forge, and Phoenixville fire companies were able to utilize the structures on the property which were scheduled for demolition. The firefighters trained on ladder procedures, ventilation, and basement fires, among many other skills.


On June 4, 2009 Kimberton Fire Company conducted a joint training with Ridge Fire Company. The drill was focused on SCBA confidence drills. The firefighters were challenged to complete a series of drills which strengthened their skills.


On May 20th, members from the Kimberton Fire Company joined together with the Liberty Fire Company (Station 63) for training in water supply and aerial operations at the Redner's parking lot. Engine 61-1 drafted, supplying Engine 63-5, who in turn, supplied both Quint 63 & Tower 61 who had their master streams in service. The water was sprayed onto the parking surface where it collected into the storm drains and returned directly back to the French Creek.

On Saturday May 2, 2009 the members of the Kimberton Fire Company attended flashover simulator training at the Delaware County Fire Academy. The flashover simulator is designed to teach firefighters how a flashover occurs, what to look for and how to prevent a flashover from occurring. A firefighter that is caught by a flashover can sustain serious and fatal injuries. This valuable training continues to enhance the quality of service the fire company provides.
