AT 5:30 AM Alarm bells began ringing in Phoenixville (65), Kimberton (61), Valley Forge (68) and Black Rock (M99) Fire Stations for a house fire in the 200 block of Dayton Street in Phoenixville. Within minutes crews were reporting heavy fire on the 3rd floor and striking out a 2nd alarm assignment. Firefighters quickly began pulling hose lines and throwing ladders at the home. An aggressive attack quickly contained the fire, but left hours of overhaul and salvage work. Crews began clearing the scene by 9 AM. County and State Police fire investigators were on the scene and determined the cause to be a result of a lightning strike.
