Around 7:15 PM Friday, County communications alerted Valley Forge (68) Fire, Tower 61 from Kimberton (61) Fire and West End Ambulance for a house fire on Wetherill Lane in Schuylkill Township. Within a couple minutes, Deputy Chief Taylor from Valley Forge was reporting smoke showing at the front door. As fire units began arriving on the scene, they found the fire to be out. The fire had been on the stove top and had begun to spread to the overhead microwave. The home was heavily charged with smoke. Firefighters worked with fans to clear the smoke and check for fire extension. Crews also removed the damaged appliances. The situation was placed under control at 7:30 PM and Kimberton crews cleared around 8 PM.
