AT 5:42 PM Crews from Kimberton Fire (61) and West End EMS (67) were alerted for an accident on Route 23 at Hares Hill Road in East Pikeland Township. Within 3 minutes the call was upgraded to having 'Entrapment' in one of the cars. Kimberton crews responded with the Rescue and Engine and West End EMS with a Paramedic Ambulance. Trappe EMS (85) from Phoenixville was also then alerted as a 2nd Ambulance. The dinner time traffic created a major traffic back up for commuters and the FD. Fire Police from Ridge Fire (62) were then requested to assist with traffic control.

Crews found a female driver trapped in her car in serious condition. Crews stabilized the vehicle and cut off the drivers door to allow access for EMS personnel. The driver was quickly packaged by Fire and EMS personnel for transport to the Paoli Trauma center. Captain Koren had the rescue operations and Deputy Chief Fields had the command. Units cleared the scene at 6:30 PM.
