At 11:15 PM the County Fire communications alerted Kimberton Fire (61) and West End Ambulance (67) for an auto accident on Charlestown Road near Pickering Dam Rd. Deputy Chief Fields was the first to arrive and confirmed a pick-up truck off the roadway into a utility pole and tree with 1 trapped. The truck found itself wedged tight against a large tree and utility pole on the drivers side and another tree that had been hit, fell against the truck's passenger door trapping the driver inside. The Engine arrived and began cutting the tree to access the passengers side door. Other rescue crew members began setting up the jaws incase they needed to cut open a door and set up lighting around the vehicle. Once the crews got past the tree to the door, the driver was freed. He was assessed by the Medic crew and later refused transport to the hospital. Fire Police closed down Charlestown Road between Pickering Dam Rd & Church Road. Firefighters cleared the scene at 12:30 AM
