The Kimberton Fire Company is proud to announce they have received a Federal grant award which will enable them to purchase a source capture exhaust extraction system for the fire station -- much needed to help improve their breathing environment for their volunteer firefighters and live-in members! The award amount is $92,500.

The Department will contract with PlymoVent for the work. They have been in business for more than 30 years, and specialize in clean air in fire stations. Having done thousands of Fire Stations across the world, they are leaders in the field of exhaust removal.

Studies have found that hazardous vehicle exhaust emissions in a fire station are a firefighter’s most significant cancer health risk and could be a serious legal liability for the fire department. With that, the Kimberton Fire Company Chief's went to their grant writer (John Sly) to apply to the Federal AFG program for a grant. This grant will allow the department to install a code compliant system to capture and remove vehicle exhaust. The system will be virtually automatic on startup and disconnect with the fire station.

Special thanks to our Grant Writer: John Sly Grant Writing, who has worked with the department on multiple successful grant projects.
