Kimberton (61) Fire and West End (67) EMS were alerted to this accident at 1:59 PM. The accident occurred on Pughtown Road at the entrance to Camphill Village in West Vincent Township. Deputy Chief Fields was the first to arrive, establishing command and requesting the utility Company to the scene ASAP. The vehicle had snapped off a utility pole and was tangled in the wires. Once it was clear the car was not energized, Rescue crews began the extrication. Firefighters used Sawzall's and 2 sets of rescue tools to cut open the roof to access the driver and remove him to the ambulance litter.

In just less than 1/2 hour from the time of the initial call, the driver was cut free of the car. During the extrication, Fire Police from Kimberton & Ridge Fire Companies closed down the roadway. They remained on the scene until after 4 PM while the tow company and PECO worked to free the car from the wires and get it towed away.
