Friday, September 19, 2014. At 9:30 PM firefighters were backing into the station after handling an electrical fire in the Staples Store at the Shoppes at Valley Forge. County 911 alerted Kimberton (61) Fire and West End (67) EMS for an accident on Charlestown Road north of Hollow Road. The Rescue, Utility and Traffic units immediately responded along with a MICU from West End EMS in Phoenixville. Crews found the vehicle overturned in the street, with the driver having fled the scene. Phoenixville Police picked up the driver walking north towards Phoenixville and brought him back to the scene for the State Police. Fire Units and Fire Police closed the roadway and crews helped clean up and light the scene. Both the driver and passenger refused EMS assistance. The driver was taken by PSP and fire units cleared just after 10 PM.
