BARN BURNS ON ROUTE 23

Thursday, October 2, 2014. At 5:24 PM Firefighters from Kimberton Fire (61), Ridge Fire (62), Phoenixville Fire(65), Friendship EMS (83) from Royersford were dispatched to Route 23 west of Buckwalter Road for a barn fire. As crews left the station, the black smoke could be seen on the horizon. Upon arrival the fire was already through the roof of the barn and threatening the house next door. A Tanker task force was requested for additional water. This brought Tankers from Valley Forge Fire (68), Lionville Fire (47) and Ludwigs Corner Fire (73) to the battle. The Fire was quickly knocked down and officially placed under control at 6 PM. Units remained on the scene with heavy equipment operators until midnight. Also on scene was West End EMS for a MICU and rehab unit as well as North Penn Goodwill Canteen Services.
