Thursday December 28, 2023. Just before 6 PM units from Kimberton, Valley Forge, Phoenixville, Lionville, Spring City, Ludwigs Corner and East Whiteland Fire stations, as well as West End Ambulance were alerted for a house fire in the 1000 block of Pike Springs Rd (Route 113) in East Pikeland Township. Kimberton Firefighters were the first on the scene and found fire in the wall of the home. Crews stretched a hose line to the rear and began to open up the walls on the 1st and 2nd floor to access the fire. Crews contained the fire in the first couple minutes of the incident but waited until they were sure they had dug out all the hot spots before placing the fire under control. Traffic on Route 113 was a mess with all the fire trucks, as they couldn't make it down the narrow driveway to the home. County Fire Marshals assisted on the scene with determining the cause & origin. The cause was listed as 'electrical' by the Fire Marshals. Also assisting on the scene was Belfor Restorations, due to the significant smoke damage. Photos by Firefighter Rebecca Nolan.
