Octorara Homeland Security & Protective Services Academy (OHSPSA) prepares students for careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, pre-hospital emergency medical care, emergency management, military services, and firefighting. This program is an approved PA Department of Education Career Program of Study and is available to students in grades 10, 11, & 12 in all Chester County schools.

Upon completion, students can earn up to 92 state and national job-related certifications which are required for entry level positions and earn up to 50 college credits. These certifications are normally reserved for adult learners, but because this is an approved PDE program of study, learners are eligible while attending high school. This affords students the opportunity to position themselves at a significant advantage over their peers in a competitive job market. The Academy is located at the Chester County Emergency Services Training Center in Coatesville. This is a large state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology and equipment available. Students interact daily with firefighters; law enforcement and emergency management professionals and classes work closely with all local Fire/EMS/Law enforcement agencies.
