Around 6 am on Thursday March 5th, The Kimberton FD and West End Ambulance were dispatched to Rt 724 and Pikeland Ave for an accident involving an overturned Tractor Trailer. The first-in Chief found a Tractor Trailer overturned off the roadway and into the roadside swale. The driver was standing out on shoulder of roadway with no injuries. He was delivering Mulch to a local business and missed his turn. He attempted to pull over to what he thought was a solid shoulder along Rt 724 not seeing the swale due to rain and foggy conditions, getting too close to the edge it sucked the truck into the swale rolling the truck and trailer over sliding down the swale and into a utility pole. The driver was able to escape the truck with help from a passerby. Fire Crews had to remove the majority of the mulch from the trailer in order to upright the truck and trailer, crews remained on the scene for just over 5hrs.
