Just before 5 PM firefighters from Kimberton (61), Phoenixville (65) and Ridge (62) along with MICU 67 from West End of Phoenixville responded to a report of a house fire on Camp Council Road in East Pikeland Twp. Deputy 61 arrived to find smoke from the roof and a house full of smoke. Crews quickly arrived and began their investigation. Within minutes it was determined the smoke was related to the furnace malfunctioning. Upon further investigation, crews found that the furnace had actually been on fire and began to spread. The unit was shut down and firefighters began venting the home of smoke. Before releasing the home back to family members, the home was metered for carbon monoxide. Apparatus returned to station in just over an hour.
