Before 8 AM Firefighters from Kimberton Fire (61) and West End EMS (67) of Phoenixville were alerted for an accident involving fire on Route 29 north of Union Hill Road in Charlestown Township. The single vehicle accident did an end to end flip with the car ending up on its roof and on fire. All three occupants escaped the car and refused transport to the hospital. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Fire Police (from Valley Forge and East Whiteland FD’s) closed down Route 29 from Buckwalter Rd. to Charlestown Rd. but not before a substantial back-up occurred. Kimberton crews then worked to get the back log past the incident after the fire was extinguished. After an extensive clean up the units cleared around 9 AM.
