2 ALARM HOUSE FIRE WITH RIDGE FIRE COMPANY

Sunday (Easter) April 5, 2015. Just after 1 PM Ridge (62) firefighters were alerted for a house fire on Wade Drive in East Vincent Township. Upon arrival they found a 3 bay attached garage well involved with fire extending into the home on the 2nd floor. The Incident Commander then called for Tower 61 as fire appeared to be up in the attic space. Before Kimberton crews could respond a 2nd alarm was struck bringing all equipment from Kimberton. Firefighters from Kimberton responded with an Engine, Tower, 2 Tankers and a Brush Unit. The Brush Unit was because several acres of dry brush was burning from the fierce winds and burned all the way down to and across Sheeder Road. Crews made quick work of the fire and saved the bulk of the large sized home. The Homeowner was transported to a trauma center in Philadelphia with burns. County Fire Investigators were on the scene and indicated the cause was accidental. Units from Kimberton cleared by 4 PM.
