At 4:44 AM Firefighters from Kimberton (61) Fire, Valley Forge 968) Fire, Ladder 65 (Phoenixville FD) and MICU 67 from West End of Phoenixville were alerted for a building fire in the 100 block of Stewarts Court in Charlestown Township. Deputy 61 was the first to arrive and found a 5 unit townhome, with the first two (2) end units well involved in fire. The Fire was quickly extending into the 3rd and 4th units. Chief 61 (Pollinger) struck a 2nd alarm bringing the rest of the Phoenixville (65) Fire Dept, East Whiteland (5) & Lionville (47) for an engine each and MICU 85 from Trappe of Phoenixville. Firefighters worked aggressively to cut off the fire before it could work its way down the roof line into the other units. They was 1 minor firefighter injury. No homeowners were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation by County and State Police Fire Investigators. Early estimates put damages around 1.6 million dollars. Units cleared the scene by 10:15 AM.
