KIMBERTON EXTRICATES ONE IN WEST VINCENT

AT 4:30 PM firefighters from Kimberton (61) Fire and West End (67) EMS were dispatched to Saint Matthews Rd and Flint Road in West Vincent Township for an accident ‘Reported Serious’. Within a minute the rescue truck, the Chief and Deputy were enroute to the call. Upon arrival the Chiefs found a T-bone accident, where both cars ended up in a corn field. In the back seat, they found an unresponsive male and laying outside the car was another male with a head injury. Four (4) others were out an walking around the scene. Rescue personnel worked to help extricate the rear seat passenger, while other EMT’s worked on the head injury next to the car. Crews used the Jaws to remove the passenger’s door to access the rear seat patient. Extrication was complete at 4:47 PM. A 2nd and 3rd MICU were requested to the scene, bringing Trappe from Phoenixville and Uwchlan Ambulance. Two traumas were taken to Paoli Trauma Center and all others refused transport. Fire Police remained on the scene until 9:15 directing traffic, while the accident reconstruction team worked on their investigation.
