In the Early morning Hours during a heavy thunder storm, Firefighters from Kimberton (61), Lionville (47) and Uwchlan (87) EMS were awakened for a house fire on Pikeland Road near Wexford Circle. A homeowner reported seeing fire from their windows. What firefighters from Kimberton found was a transformer burning. Evidently the transformer was struck by lightning, which blew off the lid and ignited the oils contained inside. The transformer burnt away in spite of the heavy rains. Fire crews went and found a local PECO crew and directed them to the scene. Kimberton crews cleared within the hour, while all others were sent home.
