Kimberton Volunteers were alerted to this tree that was struck by lightning during todays storm. Crews were alerted at 2:17 pm to the 300 block of Merlin Road for a large tree that was struck and burning. After a discussion with the homeowner, the decision was made to drop the tree and extinguish the fire. Firefighters spent about an hour on scene.

Just after returning to the station - Crews were alerted to a building fire response with the Phoenixville FD at the Phoenixville Hospital Medical office building #2. Crews determined this to be a malfunctioning HVAC unit on the roof.
