Tuesday February 6, 2024. At 10:40 AM a trash truck operator found his load on fire at Doris Court & Hollingsworth Drive in East Pikeland Twp. The operator dumped his load in the street, leaving some fire in the truck and the trash pile on fire. Crews from Kimberton were initially dispatched to this incident, but they requested an engine from Phoenixville to assist when told about there being fire in the trash truck as well as the trash pile. Kimberton and Phoenixville crews worked together to secure the truck and pull apart the trash pile in the street. Lewis Environmental was called to clean up the mess in the street and the trash truck was towed away afterwards. The FD cleared the scene within an hour.
